The District Chief Executive planted a tree behind the dubar grounds at Assin Nsuta, as part of the district wide exercise..
The exercise is intended to restore the lost forest cover of the district devastated by illegal small-scale mining and timber logging…
Speaking at the event, our revered District Chief Executive said the day presented an opportunity for the good people of Nsuta and the entire District to show patriotism and commitment towards protecting the District’s forest cover and leave the younger generation much richer and greener in Assin South District..
The programme also aimed at inculcating values of planting and nurturing trees in the citizens, particularly among the younger generation, to mitigate the negative effects of climate change as well as beautifying the environment…
Our revered District Chief Executive ceased the opportunity to advise basic and senior high school students who were present at the event to focus on their books and stay away from deviant acts which can lead to teenage pregnancy and drug abuse which is becoming an increasing trend and playing a larger role in youth culture in the District.. She encouraged them to focus on their studies in order to reach higher heights on the academic ladder which will certainly inure to their benefits and affect the entire District positively in the near future…
The District Chief Executive was grateful to the organizers of the event and further extended her appreciation to the traditional rulers and other distinguished officers who have embraced the Initiative, and committed themselves to support the district endeavor, by planting a tree each.
