DISTRIBUTION OF ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWD) BENEFICIARIES BY THE DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF ASSIN SOUTH, HON. FELICIA NTRAKWAH AMISSAH

On the 2nd December 2024, Hon. Felicia Ntrakwah Amissah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Assin South District took a commendable step towards empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by distributing various essential items to 26 PWDs.
This initiative is as a result of the district’s continuous efforts to improve the livelihoods of marginalized groups, ensuring they have access to resources that enhances their personal and economic development.
The distributed items included (fufu machine, chest freezers, Electric sewing machine, Manual Sewing machine, knitting machine, cocoa spraying machine, cash for school children including apprenticeship and medical bills etc), tailored to meet the specific needs of the beneficiaries, ranged from mobility aids to tools and equipment for vocational and small-scale business operations.
This support is aimed at not only alleviating the daily struggles of PWDs in the District but also fostering their independence, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the District at large.
In addressing the beneficiaries during the event, the DCE admonished that, the government’s commitment to inclusive development and underscored the importance of providing opportunities for all citizens, regardless of physical abilities.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation, highlighting the positive impact such assistance will have on their lives and livelihoods.
This initiative aligns with national policies aimed at promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities, reaffirming the District’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all its citizens.
