This years Farmers Day celebration was held on the 3rd of December, 2022 at Jukwa in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira Disrict. The district involved in the celebration were Komenda-Edina-Equafo-Abrem, Twifo-Atti-Mokwa, Capecoast metro, Abura-Asebu-Asebu-Kwamankese and Assin South District Assembly. The theme for this years celebration was “Accelerating Agricultural Development through Value Addition”.
Mr Maxwell Kwame Essibu, a 49 year old Management Consultant from Twifo-Atti-Mokwa was adjudged the Central Regonal Best Farmer Farmer. The two time Award Winner was honored for his exploits in crop, plantain, okro, cocoyam, rice, goat and sheep rearing.
Mr Essibu received a tricycle, gas cooker, television set, radio set, suitcase, weedicides, a piece of cloth, boots, farming implements and a certificate.
A special feature of the event was a farmers market where they offered fresh farm produce and value-added products for sale at farm gate prices.
In Assin South, Mr Ibrahim Osman won the Best Farmer Award.
